Going To Seattle

We're going to Seattle in the morning!!!

The To Do List:

1) Pick up Mom and Dad at SeaTac around noon.

2) Eat Lunch in Chinatown.

3) Buy stuff for dinner at Pike Place Market.

4) Check out Seattle Center.

5) Make it to the mountains before sunset.

We are so excited! The girls haven't stopped asking about it all week long. Now if I can get the rest of the house cleaned after hitting the gym.

Man, my back is killing me.

When a Fishing Trip Turns Into A Sledding Expedition

I could have chose anywhere.

Just keep the drive as long as the kids need to sleep. They need a good nap if we are going to be fishing all afternoon.

Well, I chose Rimrock lake. There are rivers along the way that we can toss a fly into and the lake itself is open for all fish all year long.

Well, once we got to the Tieton River I decided to double check the Fish & Wildlife Guide to make sure the river is open. After all, Robin had glanced at the guide earlier while we were on the highway. It was a good thing I double checked. Closed waters.

No problem. The lake is only a few miles up the mountain.

Well, you can see what the rest of the day was like from the pictures below.

It is pretty though.
Hey look, some water!
Well, I guess we're not fishing here.
Walking in a foot of snow ain't easy when your two feet tall.
Going for a ride is easier than walking on ice.
Robin heads down the hill.
"Hey Daddy, trees!"
We slid almost all the way to the highway when we went from up top.
We found ice on the river before heading up to the lake. I guess we should have known then that our fishing trip was over.
Chloe charges ahead of us.
This was the first place I had ever caught a trout on a river. Last summer it was a lot warmer though.
Snow along the river.
In the calm around the bend of the river is a deep hole trout just love to sit in.
Can you see the car?
Going on a nature hike.
The vineyards are still looking pretty bare.

The Stealers really paid the refs well last week. The Hawks would have won the game by 3 if the refs hadn't take away two key plays with two obviously biased calls.
After an afternoon of fly fishing for steelhead, I stopped atop the pass heading down into Tucannon. The river is in the valley below.

I'm Going Fishing

I know I haven't posted much lately, but not much to say lately.

I'm going out to do some serious fishing this weekend to scope out which places the fish are most active. That way I know exactly where to take Dad later this month. Since the lakes up at Tucannon won't open until March 1, I'm going to be taking a look at some new places.

Of course, I'll still be hitting my favorite spots.
